There is case that is waiting to be heard by Pennsylvania's Supreme Court that could not only allow for Medicaid (state) funding of abortion, it could erase our entire Abortion Control Act.
On June 1, take action.
This could mean seeing free abortion on demand in the state of Pennsylvania.
This week your PA State Senator will be considering the Life Amendment, Senate Bill 956. Here is the wording that the Life Amendment includes:
"The policy of Pennsylvania is to protect the life of every unborn child from conception to birth, to the extent permitted by the Federal Constitution. Nothing in this Constitution grants or secures any right relating to abortion or the public funding thereof. Nothing in this Constitution requires taxpayer funding of abortion."
Do you agree with this statement? The pro-life leadership in the state legislature has asked us to take action--just one simple phone call-- to advance the Life Amendment, Senate Bill 956. If we do not act, Pennsylvania's Constitution could be altered to codify abortion as a protected right and allow for our tax dollars to pay for it.
Join me this Wednesday, June 1st and be part of a Day of Action for Pennsylvania’s pro-life community. We are asking everyone to call their State Senator and ask them to pass the Life Amendment before the state budget is passed this June.
The details: The current status of the Life Amendment is that it awaits action by the full State Senate before going over to the PA House. The bill must pass both chambers by the end of June in order to follow PA law and have time to advertise the passed constitutional amendment ahead of next year’s new legislative session.
Here’s a sample message you can use when you call your State Senator:
“Hello! My name is [name] and I live in your district. I am calling to ask you to please pass the Life Amendment - Senate Bill 956 - as soon as possible. Thank you.”
Your call changes history!
